About

Big Sur, CA Summer 2016

Choosing not to be defined by my experiences, but shaped by them, I am a versatile communication educator and artist. Extensive world travel informed my decision to devote three years to full-time service work in rural West Virginia, and a continued desire to positively impact our world led to my career in education. My love for and ease with writing led to my Master’s thesis study of educators being practitioners of the content they teach. The final product of this study being a provoking outline of my memoir, which can stand alone as a literary work. Communication is the means by which we live our lives every day, and it will be the means by which we solve our worldly problems now and in the future; it is the most authentic way to foster and strengthen the relationships with integrity that form the foundation of the happiness we pursue. It was with this philosophy that I entered the 9th grade classroom each day for a decade and that I now approach my work as an innkeeper and author.
